In fulfilling the role of Sheriff in Hardin County, Kentucky, I promise to give you more service and less politics!
My plans feature maintaining the road patrol level, including weekend night patrol in the county’s urban areas. This also includes continual technology upgrades, as well as keeping deputies in our local schools and supporting Veterans Court alongside other organizations.
The safety of our families, kids, neighbors, and friends is utmost importance. They deserve only the best. Our safety should not involve personal agendas or be influenced by who you are, where you live, or even if we are in total disagreement on the issues! Public safety should be the one thing you can depend on from the Sheriff’s Office, and I’m confident that I can show you what that looks like in its fullest realization.
If I am elected, the residents of the county will get to meet and learn the faces of the Sheriff’s Office. Employees of the office will be encouraged to get involved, seek out and participate in training opportunities. I will also encourage an environment in which individuals can have the freedom to innovate, speak up, and make a difference within the workplace and in their community.
I will strive to make the Sheriff’s Office more accessible, responsive, inclusive, open and visibly active throughout the entire county. I will never turn down new technology or grant opportunities as they present themselves, and I promise to be diligent about making operations involving the Sheriff’s Office more efficient and effective for both employees and the public.
One of my goals is to develop a “Sheriff’s Explorers” program. Deputies would be encouraged to spend more time with local youth, maximizing opportunities to develop teaching and mentoring relationships. I believe it is my duty as an administrator in this county to support such initiatives as expressed by our deputies.
I’ve spent most of my adult life being involved in this community. I, along with numerous others, feel that it is time to give the citizens of Hardin County a Sheriff’s Office that is responsive to their needs.
- I will make myself and staff available to the entire community.
- I will grow a reserve deputy program in order to field additional law enforcement personnel at minimal to no cost to the taxpayers.
- I will conduct an audit to make sure we are meeting all training needs.
- I will identify the strengths of the organization and work diligently on all areas in which improvement is needed.
- I will develop our existing personnel and will not engage or be influenced by special interests or personal agendas.
- I will make certain our personnel have the tools and equipment to meet the expectations of the public.
- My staff and I will work with community leaders to identify and develop solutions to complex quality-of-life issues.
- I will seek out federal and state grants to address such issues, instituting community-based youth programs designed to impact juvenile crime, drug and alcohol use, all while creating a path for success for our young people.
- I will accomplish the above through grants and the institution of a Police Activities League in our community which will allow our office to partner with existing sports and other positive activities for our children and young adults.
- I will make sure our school resource officers are properly trained to meet the needs of our community.
- I will hold regular community meetings and provide opportunities for citizens to address any issues that may arise.
